Douglas Martin Retired member of the Universal House of Justice. born in Canada, was also a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ìs of Canada, serving as its chief executive officer from 1965 to 1985 when he was appointed director-general of the Office of Public Information at the Bahá'ì World Centre. He was elected to the Universal House of Justice in 1993. Mr. Martin holds degrees in business administration and in history, and is an author and editor.
Erica Toussaint is a current member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States. Erica Toussaint has served in nearly every capacity one can serve as a Bahá'í : as a pioneer in Grenada, West Indies, as a long time member of Local Spiritual Assemblies, a member of the National Teaching Committee, as an Auxiliary Board member for Propagation. She was elected to the first Regional Bahá'í Council of the Western States, serving as its Chair until elected to the National Spiritual Assembly in April, 2000. Erica Toussaint holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is perhaps best known for her rapport with youth and her warm, down-to-earth practical application of the Writings to everyday life.
Suheil Bushrui is a distinguished author, poet, critic, translator, and media personality who is well known in the United States, the Middle East, India, Africa, and the Arab world. Professor Bushrui was the first Bahá'ì Chair for World Peace, a position to which he was appointed from 1992 to 2005. He is the founder and current Director of UM's Kahlil Gibran Research and Studies Project. Well known for his seminal studies in English of the works of W.B. Yeats and for his translations of Yeats' poetry into Arabic, Bushrui is also the foremost authority on the works of Kahlil Gibran.
